I was reading my text on American Politics this evening and came across something interesting.

“Because American attitudes are sometimes unstable or uninformed, some critics of our society have argued that we are all brainwashed – duped by T.V. or demagogic leaders into thinking one way or another. Naturally these critics never say they are brainwashed, only the rest of us.”

This got me to thinking about the Lost. Since my return to college, I have been assailed by many, many students who are atheists, claiming I have been brainwashed into believing a lie, a myth, a fable. They tell me I need to wake up to the real world, and start making sense of things.

I want to ask these people; “So how do you know you have not been brainwashed? How do you know that secular propagandists have not filled your head with fairy tales of a Big Bang, of billions of years, of dinosaurs transforming into birds, of a world where there is no Judgement and man is god?”

Of course these people are convinced that they are not brainwashed. They’d know it, wouldn’t they?

2 Corinthians 4:4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Psalm 82:5 “They know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.”

1 John 2:11 “But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him.”

So often we forget about the unbelievers. Those can have no foundation in Christ, because to them there is no God. I teach first that you must believe God, it is not point in going further. To those that don’t believe do we really have any words for them? The bible cannot impact those that don’t believe. My only words, to the unbeliever I have are, can you can answer Gods questions in Job 38 & 39 as to:1. Why is the earth set up so exact?2. Why can’t you control the weather?3. Why do animals have instincts for all aspects of their life from birth? When God ask Job where were you when I did these things it poses the question to the atheist:1. If I did not then did you do these things?2. If I did not then what other God did these things?3. If I did not you have to believe an “IT” did these things? (which means there is no intelligence behind their creation)There concept of “IT HAPPENED” is based in no intelligence, which is more unbelievable than God. Chaos does not have design, but if they are willing to swallow that then probably there is no hope thru teaching. We can only hope that when their end comes and they realize for the first time their beliefs lead to one conclusion, when they die they are ended. That is when their spirit overpowers the flesh and says, “What the heck are you doing to us!” Their brain still says, “I don’t believe there is a God. They keep trying to prove that the spoon does not bend, when “There is no spoon”. I wonder, if the wise are like the rich? It is easier for a camel to go thru the eye of a needle. My best thought is if they truly don’t believe in God why do they give it a thought. If there is no God then time to them should be more precious than gold, why waste it on creating an alternative God (science, professors, logic, etc…). There end result is nothing (ashes and dust).
